Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Clinical Decision Support (CDS) Knowledge Artifact (KNART) Program
Cognitive Medical Systems led clinical and technical content delivery teams in a $12M VHA program to build computable guidelines for the VA knowledge-based systems CDS initiative, which was awarded a 2018 Federal Health IT Innovation Award.
Veterans Administration (VA) Patient-Centered Community Care (PC3) and Veterans Choice Programs (VCP) for Health Net Federal Services (HNFS)
Cognitive Medical Systems implemented the FISMA-compliant IT hosting environment, developed data integration solutions for healthcare administration and claims management systems, and developed custom web-based applications used by HNFS to manage VA PC3 and VCP.
Defense Health Agency (DHA) Legacy Program Integration (LPI) Program
Cognitive Medical Systems developed two custom web applications for the DHA LPI research and development (R&D) program to demonstrate how modern applications can be integrated with legacy healthcare system datasets from multiple Federal system sources such as the Composite Health Care System (CHCS), Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA), and Defense Medical Human Resources System internet (DMHRSi).
Prenatal Quality Collaboration of North Carolina (PQCNC) Quality Improvement Application for the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Medicine, Chapel Hill
Cognitive Medical Systems developed an application for Apple iOS, Android, and a web-based system administration site to support the PQCNC program for the UNC School of Medicine, Chapel Hill. The quality improvement (QI) application was developed to address two use cases: human milk consumption and neonatal catheter-associated bloodstream infections (NCABSI) for newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The application provided alert and data collection functionality based on customizable logic to support QI best practices for the two use cases, as well as a scalable data warehouse to support reporting and analytics needs.
