Position Summary

We are seeking a SAS Grid Data Analyst to provide technical expertise for the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.    This role will provide SAS Programming, Project Coordination and Analysis support.


  • Provide technical expertise for Department of Veteran’s Affairs
  • Ability to use SAS programming for building study reports
  • Develop SAS coding and templates for preparing, processing and analyzing data
  • Manage the SAS environment to include:
    • Software settings
    • File management
    • User management
    • Security management
    • User support
    • Manage the Grid, including the SAS Management Console, SAS Metadata Server and Repository, and comprehensive job scheduling and load balancing.
    • SAS dataset management
    • Performance analysis and tuning
    • Design/analysis/implementation of new SAS projects
    • Upgrades and patches
    • Ensuring R/Stata/Python Statistical packages run on the SAS grids


  • Must be a US citizen and be able to pass a U.S. Government background check
  • Minimum of 10-12 years relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Government security standards
  • 5+ years of SAS programming experience
  • 5+ years of SQL programming
  • 3+ years of any coding experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • 5+ Data analytic experience
  • SAS Certification is a plus
  • Prior Healthcare Research experience
  • Experience with VA security rules and policies
  • Additional requirements:
    • Database Administrator abilities in regard to SAS and Open-Source coding for errors and Optimization
    • Application and Remote DB Query Management
    • Support SQL
    • Linux Skills
    • Experience with Microsoft (MS) SQL Server and other similar DB’s
    • Data Warehouse experience
    • Pharmaceutical and Medical Research experience
